It was a whirlwind of a summer for us at Huston & Company, and in addition to some pretty substantial updates we’re making around the workshop, we’ve taken on quite a few exciting projects as of late. Hopefully we’ll have a chance to share some final photos of a few of these pieces in their new homes, but for now, we hope you enjoy these glimpses into our custom furniture building process.
We worked with designer, Penelope Daborn, for the first time this summer on an install of furniture for a project up the coast in Arrowsic. Shown below is a peek at a coffee table we constructed for Daborn’s client, alongside a custom tabletop for another Saarinen-inspired table for a client of Meghan Shadrick’s.
As a thoughtful surprise for her husband, our client commissioned us to craft a custom dining table with a painted Gates Table base and a cherry top with a live edge and a carving of their initials in the corner.
We’ve constructed a few of these custom coffee tables for clients of interior designer, Tyler Karu, and there are plans in the works to make even more.
New bedroom furniture for a client of Yarmouth-based designer, Samantha Pappas – bed posts from Hanson Woodturning with a custom dresser and a pair of custom nightstands.
A set of our York Side Chairs (with a slightly shorter back) upholstered in a beautiful light green herringbone fabric.
We were thrilled to be asked by designer Meghan Shadrick to participate in the Heading Home to Dinner fundraiser by donating this custom bar cart that will be auctioned off at the event in Boston.
We’ve got some great fall projects coming down the pipeline, so be sure to check back for those updates from our workshop soon.
